Simple, Eco-Friendly Laundry Alternatives
The laundry room is one of largest energy-consuming rooms in a home. Traditional washers and dryers also take up a lot of space and they can be difficult to move.
The WonderWash below (photo on left) is a portable (under 6 lbs.),
non-electric mini washing machine . Click here to see a YouTube
video/review of this simple yet effective back-to-basics product.
Spin dryers use centrifugal force to remove water from damp clothes.

Some studies estimate that the average American is exposed to hundreds of advertisements every day. The products and services advertised are suppose to make us 'happy' and so we buy them (or buy 'into' them). And then we use up our precious time working extra hours at jobs we do not like, to make money to pay for things that we do not need. And then the stuff gets dusty, rusty and outdated, packed away in our closets, garages and storage units,
because we do not have the time to use them.
Jump into the future for a moment, and imagine that today is the last day of your life. A magic genie appears and she offers to grant you one of two choices.
Wish #1: A warehouse filled with with
all of the stuff that you had ever wanted.
Wish #2: An additional year to live.
When we live simply, we have more time to live.
Because we spend less time buying and paying for things that we do not need.
=======================================
Christmas Paradox
Christmas honors a great Man who lived a simple life.
And yet, for many of us, the holiday season is filled with stress and
financial worries. Holiday songs reflect an attitude of peace and joy, but for many people, the holidays represents a hectic time filled with emotional turmoil.
One might wonder how things might be, if people stepped off the crazy consumer-driven hamster wheel. Perhaps we would then have time
to send out a few thoughtful greetings to old friends,
or relax for a moment and watch the snow fall.
=======================================
Yellow (caution) Light
A yellow light at a street intersection means caution,
a warning that we need to stop!
The logo for Live Simply in the U.S. is also yellow,
to encourage us to take caution. As Americans, our greatest
inheritance is freedom, and yet many of us seem to take it for granted.
We have become overly dependent on other countries for almost every purchase that we make, and if we are not careful, that dependence may cost us our independence.
As we send our hard-earned money to other countries for merchandise, fuel, etc. It might be a good idea to consider what they are doing with the money.
If they are purchasing missiles and battle ships,
maybe it would be a good idea to
spend a little less and just...
live simply!
The things that will destroy America are prosperity-at-any-price, peace-at-any-price, safety-first instead of duty-first,
the love of soft living, and the get-rich-quick theory of life.
- Theodore Roosevelt
